Food Processing Lighting

Not your average overhead lighting

Your facility needs tough lighting. From high-pressure wash-downs and harsh cleaning products, to steam, grease, oil and extreme temperatures, your fixtures need to withstand it all.

Within our fixtures, we offer a variety of spectrums designed for different facility areas. Our Disinfecting Lighting collection kills up to 99% of bacteria – including E. coli, Listeria and Salmonella. Arden’s products provide you with an added layer of protection from costly and brand damaging outbreaks and recalls.

We use high-tech, reinforced polymer housings to prevent corrosion with high-impact lenses designed to take a beating. With a watertight rating of IP66 and a National Sanitation Foundation rating, you’ll meet the necessary food preparation requirements.

Our LED fixtures keep facility costs down while meeting the illumination standards for a safe, clean workplace.

Reduce Risk – Maximize profit

Disinfecting light technology is proven to kill microorganisms — including Listeria, E. coli, Salmonella, mold, fungi and other harmful organisms that can lead to outbreaks.

Protection Made Easy

Continuously disinfect your facility at all hours of the day — including working hours. This easy to implement solution helps keep your operation safe from outbreaks without UV rays, harsh chemicals or additional labor-intensive procedures. You can provide protection against costly outbreaks with the flip of a light switch.

Our Disinfecting Light Series is:

Effective

This disinfecting technology is proven to significantly reduce the number of harmful bacteria on surfaces. Lab experiments show up to a 90%* bacteria reduction in a treated environment within one day.

*in controlled lab settings

Safe

Proven harmless to humans, plants and animals while being deadly for single cell bacteria, molds, and fungi. In contrast, UV lights kill germs but are unsafe for use around people, plants and animals.

Continuous

This disinfection works 24 hours a day, providing your facility with continuous protection whenever the lights are on.

“Thirty years ago, if you had a little problem, you were not going to get discovered. Now the chances of getting caught are significant, and it can be the end of your company.”

-David Acheson, former associate commissioner for foods at the U.S. FDA, Fortune Magazine 2016

The Cost of an Outbreak

The Risks of Food-Borne Illness

Food processing environments have limited ways to reduce mold, bacteria and contaminant outbreaks. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Economic Research Service estimates that the US spends more than $15 billion annually on foodborne illnesses.

A study published by the Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA) found that the largest recall costs come from business interruption and product disposal. Following an outbreak, manufacturers said their main concerns were the health and safety of the customer, brand protection, supplier relationships and cost recovery. A full account of the GMA white papers can be accessed here: Capturing Recall Costs Measuring and Recovering the Losses
